New Delhi: Every year, Hindus commemorate Ram Navami, which is one of the most auspicious festivals on the final day of Chaitra Navratri. Ram Navami falls on March 30 this year. It commemorates the birth of Lord Rama, who is also said to be Lord Vishnu's seventh incarnation. Ram Navami occurs on the ninth day of the Chaitra month's Shukla Paksha as Lord Rama's birthday coincides with the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri when devotees of Maa Durga conclude their fasting.

Devotees offer special prayers and worship Lord Rama on this day, seeking his blessings for health, happiness, and prosperity. The festival is widely celebrated in many parts of India, especially in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra.

Flowers, lights, and colourful Rangolis adorn homes and churches. Additionally, people also hold processions and perform devotional songs to Lord Rama. The recitation of the Ramayana, an epic Hindu scripture that tells the story of Lord Rama's life and battles against evil, is one of the major customs connected with Ram Navami.
