The 2024/25 world food awards list has been announced by the experiential food guide Taste Atlas. The award categories include several foods, cuisines and dishes in the 'Top 100 list' and many food enthusiasts are quite amped about the lists and their country or region's food making it to the top of the list. Once again several dishes from the Indian cuisine have made it to the top despite popular and generic opinion that Indian cuisine is all about spices. 


Indian foods in the list


Several Indian dishes have made it to the top with Indian cuisine being ranked as the 12th best cuisine in the world by Taste Atlas. In the '100 Best Dishes in the world' category, Murgh Makhani and Hyderabad Biryani have been placed at No. 29 and No. 31 positions while Chicken 65 and Keema take the 97th and 100th position respectively. 


Both Murgh Makhani and Hyderabadi Biryani have an average rating of 4.52 while Chicken 65 and Keema received 4.44 stars.


In the best vegetable dish category, Misal Pav and Malai Kofta have made it to the top. In fact both the Kofta and Misal Pav have an average rating of 4.42 and rank on the No 1 and No 2 spot respectively. 


In the best stew category, the Indian Curry ranks in the second position with a rating of 4.57. While in the breads category, Amritsari Kulcha ranks on Number 2 with a rating of 4.65 and Butter Garlic Naan on the 3rd spot with a rating of 4.6.


Indian cities as the best food places to explore


Apart from the Indian dishes that featured on the global Taste Atlas list, cities such as Mumbai secured the fifth spot in the 100 Best Food Cities in the world ranking category.
