Bakra Eid, also known as Eid al-Adha or the "Festival of Sacrifice," is an important Islamic festival observed by Muslims worldwide. It is very important and is observed with zeal and grandeur. The date of Eid al-Adha varies each year due to the Islamic calendar. It is observed on the tenth day of the twelfth and final month, Dhul Hijjah. This month is significant for Muslims because it is when the majority of them begin their Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca.

The oldest and largest socio-religious organisation of Indian Muslims, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, has declared that Eid-ul-Adha will be observed on June 29. Bakrid will be observed on the same day in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Canada, and Singapore. Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, will observe the festival on June 28.
