The lockdown has increased the time people spend on different screens, with nothing much to do people are just depending on their screens for entertainment and constant distractions. People who are working remotely already have enough screen time which can not be changed except for taking breaks and giving your eyes some rest instead of staring at your screen for 8 hours. Here are some tips that can help you limit your screen time.

Find an alternative to TV shows and movies: With the pile of books you have neatly collected, it is time to start reading them. Instead of binge-watching TV shows & movies, pick up a book and sink into a comfortable chair with the same snack and dive into and adventure which you have to imagine yourself.

Screen Limiting App: Apps like Forest lock all your social media apps for a certain time selected if you stop the timer your virtual plant will die. Such apps will help you limit your screen time, engage yourself in some other activity and limit the time you waste mindlessly scrolling through different apps.

Find a new hobby: It is very tempting to keep using our phone but if you have to do something, you should take up a hobby, like gardening or cooking. Hobbies will keep your hands and mind engaged so that you are not tempted to pick up that phone!

Being mindful using the screen: If you are going use the screens, you might as well use it for something useful like learning a new exercise regime or learning a new craft. This way you limit your screen time because you’ll be more focused on the activity you are learning.

Spending time with your family: Just simply keep that phone or laptop aside and talk to the people in your home. Spend time with your pets, your parents or siblings.
