New Delhi: Sonam Kapoor is all set to deliver a spoken word performance during King Charles III's Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle, on Sunday, a day after the historic ceremony that declared him the 40th monarch of the United Kingdom. At the event, she will be introducing Steve Winwood and the Commonwealth virtual choir.

According to media reports, Sonam will wear a floor-length gown co-designed by Kolkata-based designer Anamika Khanna and UK-based designer Emilia Wickstead at King Charles III's coronation concert.

Speaking about the gown, it is a floor-length one that has a band design across the shoulders that frames the corseted bodice and extends into a voluminous skirt laced with architectural godet pleats. While Wickstead designed the gown, Khanna added the calico-inspired print to complete the look, as reported by Vogue.

The Indian designer was inspired by 17th and 18th-century calico designs, which were once a product exchanged between India and the United Kingdom.

Sonam has been wearing Anamika Khanna outfits for years and has worn them for major occasions ranging from her wedding reception in 2018 to her debut on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in 2014.

Several celebrities will sing and make appearances at King Charles III's coronation ceremony. In addition to Sonam, Tom Cruise and The Pussycat Dolls are also expected.

On the work front, Sonam Kapoor is preparing to make her acting comeback after a long hiatus with Shome Makhija's 'Blind'. This is her first film since giving birth to her son Vayu Kapoor Ahuja in August of last year. In the movie, Sonam Kapoor will be playing the lead, with Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, and Lillete Dubey providing support.

'Blind' is a remake of the 2011 Korean film of the same name, which follows a blind police officer on the hunt for a serial killer. The film was shot in Glasgow, Scotland, among other locations, and was completed in February 2021.
