Choti Diwali 2021: Adopting These 5 Measures On Choti Diwali Can Bring Fortune And Happiness

Choti Diwali Upaye 2021: 'Narak Chaturdashi' or Choti Diwali is celebrated on the chaturdashi of Kartik month. The festival of Roop Chaturdashi is also celebrated on this day.

New Delhi: Narak Chaturdashi or Chhoti Diwali is celebrated on chaturdashi of Kartik month. Choti Diwali is celebrated a day before main Diwali or Badi Diwali. The festival of Roop Chaturdashi is also celebrated on this day.  Lamps are lit on this day to wish for a long life. 

On this day, earthen lamps are dedicated to Lord Yama which gives long life to all the members of the family. According to the mythological belief, Lord Krishna killed the demon named Narkasur and freed 16,000 women from his captivity. 

Therefore, the day of Choti Diwali is also known as Narak Chaturdashi or Roop Chaturdashi. Added to that, it is also believed that Lord Hanuman was born on the day of Chaturdashi of Kartik month, so Hanuman Jayanti is also celebrated on this day. 

Today on November 3, 2021, the festival of Choti Diwali or Narak Chaturdashi will be celebrated across the country. On Roop Chaturdashi there is a tradition of massaging the body with mustard oil and 'Ubtan' (powdered mix of herbs) before taking a bath in the morning. It is also believed that taking some measures on the day of Choti Diwali day eliminates other money related problems. Here are some  measures you can take on Choti Diwali day. 

  1. Get up early in the morning on the day of Choti Diwali and take a bath after massaging with sesame oil and pray to the Sun God. 
  2. Also light a lamp in your homes on the day of Narak Chaturdashi and worship Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kuber for prosperity. 
  3. Worship Lord Krishna, Lord Dhanwantari and Lord Kuber for health and longevity of life on the day of Narak Chaturdashi. 
  4. Hanuman Jayanti is also celebrated on this day so visit Hanuman Temple in the afternoon on this day. And offer him gud-chana (jaggery and gram). 
  5. It is believed that one must worship Goddess Kalka on the day of Choti Diwali. Doing so removes all sufferings.
