The construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is almost complete, and preparations for its consecration are underway. The ceremony to be held on January 22, 2024 will be attended by eminent personalities across the nation who have been sent special invites. The inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is given a festive colour to the temple town.

Champat Rai, general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, had earlier explained that the sanctum sanctorum where Ram Lalla (Lord Ram in child form) will be placed will not have any idol of Goddess Sita. The idol of Ramlala to be installed there will be in the form of a 5-year-old child. Since Sita had not entered Ram's life at that age, there won't be an idol of the Goddess there. When Lord Ram married Sita, He was believed to be 27 years old.

Accordingly, the Ram Lalla's worship method has seen a change. There will be no hymn praising Ram and Sita together. Ram Lalla's chief priest, Acharya Satyendra Das, told ABP News that Ram would be worshipped in his child form at the temple, and therefore there will no longer be a hymn praising Ram and Sita together.

The hymn will now focus on the four brothers (Ram, Bharat, Lakshman and Shatrughna), their three mothers (Kaushalya, Kaikayee and Sumitra), the Sarju river that is worshipped as a Goddess, and Ayodhya Nath, he said. Acharya Das also said a booklet announcing the changes has been sent to all priests.

Pran Pratishtha On January 22

A few days ago, the Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust shared a glimpse of the 'garbhagriha', or the sanctum sanctorum, of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. It will house the Ram Lalla. On the first floor, there will be the 'darbar' of Lord Ram. The temple is being constructed using indigenous techniques and traditions, with special attention to environmental and water conservation practices.

Idols of elephant, lion, Lord Hanuman and Garuda, sculpted using pink sandstone sourced from Rajasthan’s Bansi Paharpur village, have been installed at the entrance gate of the Ram Mandir.

The 'Pran Pratishtha' puja will begin at 11:30 AM on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the gathering from 12:30 PM.
