New Delhi: Campa Cola is all set to be back in the market, thanks to Reliance Industries. It will indeed be a trip down memory lane for all the 80s and 90s kids, as the soft drink will reportedly be launched in October 2023, as part of Reliance's plan to expand its FMCG business.

Speaking of Campa Cola, it was originally created by the Pure Drinks Group in the 1970s. The advertisement for Campa featured Salman Khan in his teens and he starred along with Tiger Shroff's mother Ayesha Shroff. Other models namely, Shiraz Merchant, Sunil Nischol, Vanessa Vaz and Aarti Gupta were also present.

The TVC first appeared in 1983.  It featured a younger-looking, lean Salman Khan sharing some candid moments on a yacht with Ayesha and friends. All of them bonded over the fizzy drink as the girls went for a swim and a few boys joined them. Additionally, they also camped on the beach.

In 2019, Salman Khan revealed on Tara Sharma's chat show that he was just trying to "impress a lady", who was Kailash Surendranath's girlfriend Aarti Gupta, by showing her his underwater swimming skills after which he bagged his first ad film.

He had said, "I was swimming one day at the Sea Rock Club and I saw this really beautiful, young lady walking past in a red sari. To impress her, I dived in the water and being such an idiot, I swam the whole length underwater. So when I came out on the other side, she was not there. The next day, I got a call from Far Productions, saying that they want me to do a cold drink commercial - it was Campa Cola, at that point of time and I was wondering, 'How did this come about?' I went there to meet Kailash with my aunt."

"We were supposed to shoot that in the Maldives and they did want somebody who knew how to swim underwater. Me and Jackie's wife Ayesha were the only two who could do those laps underwater. That's how I faced the camera for the first time", he had further added.

Aarti Gupta also shared the story about how Salman Khan had reached the airport to leave for Andaman and had almost decided not to board the flight after seeing the others.

"Salman had reached the airport and he had chickened out. He had seen Jackie, who had come to drop off Ayesha, standing with Sunil, Shiraz and the girls and everyone was very well dressed up. They all looked as if they had just stepped out of an ad. So Salman decided to flee. I saw this head popping out of this pillar, looking at us and going back.", The Economic Times quoted Aarti as saying.

The ad created a buzz regarding the new model used and the Cola jingle became quite popular.
