Ganesh Visarjan Puja Vidhi: Lord Ganesha is welcomed on Ganesh Chaturthi with the same joy and excitement as he is bid adieu on Immersion Day. It is said that Lord Ganesha, also called as Vighnaharta Ganesha, removes all troubles from their devotees' lives and gives them happiness, peace and prosperity in life. Lord Ganesha was welcomed on the Shukla Paksha Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month and he will be immersed on the day of Ananth Chaudas. 


Ganpati Visarjan is set to take place tomorrow, but devotees are getting emotional just by thinking that they have to bid adieu to Lord Ganesha soon. Just like Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganesha is also bid adieu on an auspicious time of the day.


This year Ganesh Visarjan would be held on September 19. Lord Ganesha's idol is immersed in any water source, whether it be a pond or a cistern in the house. According to Hindu Calendar, there are 5 auspicious times for Ganpati Visarjan. This time, Ganpati Visarjan falls on Sunday which also coincides with Dhriti Yoga. Also west would remain the auspicious direction . 


Auspicious time for Ganesh Visarjan:


According to astrologers, it is recommended to immerse Lord Ganesha's idol only on auspicious times. This year, the auspicious time of Ganesh Visarjan is from 09:11am to 12:21pm. You can also immerse Lord Ganesha's idol between 01:56pm to 03:32pm.


Also, Abhijeet Muhurat is between 11:50 am and 12:39 am. Brahma Muhurat is from 04:35am to 05:23am and Amrit Kal is from 08:14pm to 09:50pm. Keep in mind that Rahukal is scheduled between 04:30pm and 6pm on this day. Don't forget to complete the Immersion during this time frame.

Before immersing Lord Ganesha's idol, you should keep in mind that Lord Ganesha's idol should be dressed in new clothes. During the worship, you should tie modak, money, durva grass and betel nut in a silk cloth and keep that bundle along with Lord Ganesha's idol. After this, you should worship Lord Ganesha while also asking for forgiveness for any mistakes done. You should then immerse the idol with all respect and love.
