ABOUT NITA AMBANI'S GHAGRA:

Commencing the wedding festivities, she attended the baraat procession in a custom Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla ‘Rangkat’ ghagra. Taking to their Instagram handle, the designer duo described the outfit emphasizing the detailed work that artisans had done for 40 days. The outfit reflected Nita Ambani’s vision of celebrating the incredible talent of Indian artisans while sharing the cultural legacy of our country with the world.

"The peach silk ghagra combines hues of vintage bronze, blushing pink and pistachio green. Worn with a jaali blouse crafted in Naqshi and Saadi gold along with silver Zardozi work that is fabulously finished with a dazzling sprinkle of Swarovski crystals, the outfit emanates a regal aura," wrote the designer duo, adding, "Handcrafted by master artisans Vijay Kumar and Monika Maurya of SWADESH for over 40 days, the special outfit has been paired with a traditional ‘Rangkat’ dupatta in exuberant pastel shades."

In addition to her gorgeous ghagra, when Nita Ambani entered the venue with her family, she had a gold Ganesha idol in her carrying, probably signifying auspicious beginnings.

NITA AMBANI'S MEHENDI DESIGN:

Drawing inspiration from the age-old Indian wedding tradition of engraving the name of one’s beloved in mehendi, Nita Ambani highlights a unique interpretation of the art form that brings together the names of all her family members. In this design, a beautiful motif of Radha-Krishna on her palms is complemented by the names of the new couple – Anant and Radhika – along with the rest of the Ambani family, on the back of her hands.
