The pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant were a lavish affair with celebrities and eminent personalities descending on Jamnagar, Gujarat, from across the world. The celebrations saw spectacular fun-filled moments that effortlessly blended western extravaganza and Indian tradition. On one hand there was singer Rihanna who stole the show with her performance, while on the other there were Bollywood celebs performing to masala numbers, romantic beats and age-old wedding songs. Amid all this, Nita Mukesh Ambani took the stage displaying her religious sentiments and love for Indian culture.

On March 3, the last day of the pre-wedding bash, Nita Ambani performed on the Vishwambhari Stuti, a sacred hymn dedicated to 'Maa Ambe', who is considered the embodiment of power and strength.

What Is Vishwambhari Stuti?

Vishvambhari is an epithet of the supreme goddess Mahadevi in Hinduism and refers to Her as the personification of Earth, the divine consort of Lord Vishnu (as Bhumi), as well as her guardianship and sustenance of all beings that reside upon it. The sacred hymn known as Vishwambhari Stuti is sung usually after an aarti of the Goddess is performed. Written in Gujarati, the hymn asks Maa Ambe for protection. It is believed that by singing this hymn with devotion and love, one can overcome their worries and fears by admitting their faults to the mother.

Nita Ambani's Performance

According to people close to Nita Ambani, the hymn is very close to her as she has heard it every time during Navratri since her childhood. She dedicated her dance performance to Anant and Radhika as she prayed for their long life together, and also to her granddaughters Aadiya Shakti and Veda, as well as all young girls who represent the essence of feminine strength.
