New Delhi: Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son Anant Ambani got engaged to Radhika Merchant on Thursday. The much-anticipated engagement was attended by superstars such as Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Katrina Kaif. They held a traditional engagement ceremony during which they followed traditional Gujarati rites such as Gol Dhana and Chunari Vidhi.
Members of the Ambani family led by Anant’s sister Isha, went to the Merchant residence to invite them and Radhika to the evening’s functions. The Merchant family was received warmly by the Ambani family at their residence amidst Aarti and chanting of mantras.
The family accompanied Anant and Radhika to the temple to seek Lord Krishna's blessings for the marriage and the evening rites. The engagement ceremony began with a Ganesh puja, followed by the reading of the traditional Lagan Patrika or the invitation to the upcoming wedding.
But, the most interesting bit of the entire event was the ring ceremony. When the couple was about to exchange their rings, the host announced, "It seems like we have a missing ring, but I think we have a surprise ring-bearer." Following this we see a person coming down the stairs with a dog. Surprisingly, the dog was the ring-bearer and he went straight to Anant Ambani.
The video of this interesting ceremony has gone viral online and netizens are really overjoyed. In the video we also see Mukesh and Nita Ambani dancing to bless the newly engaged couple. Then, the entire audience raised golden and white hearts to mark the lovely occasion.
