CELEBRITY ARRPOVED MORNING HABITS YOU CAN RELY ON:

Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, swears by eight hours of sleep per night. He also believes in waking up naturally, without the use of an alarm clock. Oprah wakes up on her own as well. She explained how she sets her internal clock in her wellness journal: "I have never set an alarm, I don't believe in them." They are...scary! I memorise the time and wake up before it, usually between 6:02 and 6:20, because the dogs are trained to go out at that time. 'Oh, I'm alive,' is my first thought in the morning. 'Thank you!"

Arianna Huffington has a similar schedule. Huffington's early bedtime allows her to get eight hours of sleep, which is the recommended amount of sleep for most adults, according to the National Sleep Foundation. It also ensures that she awakens naturally, without the use of an alarm clock. "Consider the definition of alarm," Huffington says, "a sudden fear or distressing suspense caused by an awareness of danger,"  Forbes magazine reported. As our body prepares for danger, starting the day in such a startling manner releases a flood of stress hormones and adrenaline. Not a good way to start the day!

While grabbing a cup of coffee first thing in the morning may appear to be the logical choice, health experts say water is preferable. After going several hours without water, a glass of water first thing in the morning can hydrate the body while also aiding digestion and metabolism. Water is an essential nutrient, and your body's organs and tissues rely on it to function. Because your body loses water on a regular basis, you must compensate for these losses to avoid dehydration. Cameron Diaz, an actress and author, swears by it: "It's critical to start your day with a lot of energy," she advises. "For me, that starts with getting up, brushing my teeth, and drinking some water—I drink a litre of water straight down."

A glass of cool water can revitalise you and make you feel more positive and prepared for the day ahead.
