New Delhi: A new book 'From Lucknow to Lutyens: The power and plight of Uttar Pradesh' written by award-winning senior journalist and columnist Abhigyan Prakash was launched in Oxford on Friday. In his new book, senior journalist and national affairs expert Abhigyan Prakash of ABP has depicted the impact of caste and communalism in Indian politics. The book underlines the importance of the northern state of Uttar Pradesh in Indian politics. The author explores how and why a state with a 300 million population, commanding the most prominent space in Indian polity is behind other regions in multiple development parameters.
At the time of book release in Oxford, the journalist also highlighted India’s relationship with the UK. "India, as a growing economy, may become the most vital partner of the UK, but it should be careful about its social harmony and policy making at the same time to grow faster," said the author.

Prabha Khaitan Foundation organised the book launch and interaction in partnership with British Council and Oxford Business College (OBC). The event witnessed a large gathering of book lovers, enthusiasts from South Asia, social scientists and students from the Oxford University.
Oxford Business College is the oldest independent higher education college in Oxford with campuses in London, Slough, and Nottingham and partnerships with multiple universities.
The book has been published by Harper Collins was made available to the readers from February 10. Prakash, who has reported on and analysed the state and national politics for over two decades during book release stated that the concerns mentioned in the book have been there with him for a very long time.
According to Prakash, it is very important for the readers to understand that the issues (caste, crime, education, etc) that are still ailing UP should have changed already, as it has a direct impact on the country.
