Aadhar card is considered to be an important document for every Indian citizen. Aadhar card is not only a document but also an identity card. Aadhaar is very important for any kind of financial transaction and for availing benefits of government schemes.
Aadhaar not only contains your address information but also contains the biometric information of the person. Now Aadhar card is equally important for children. This can be useful for their school admission etc. If the child is below 5 years of age, then you can get the Aadhaar made without biometric data. It is also called hair base.

If your child is below five years of age, then you can get Baal Aadhaar made. The Aadhaar issued to children is blue in colour. For Baal Aadhaar, wherever the identity of the child is required, their parents have to accompany them. But when the child is five years old, they have to go to the permanent Aadhaar center nearby and get the biometric details registered with the same Aadhaar number.
Know the complete process
Firstly the applicant has to visit the official website of UIDAI. Here on the home page, click on 'Book an appointment form 'Get Aadhar'. After the page opens, you will have to book your appointment by selecting your state, district, and Aadhaar center. After which, you have to book the date of appointment by entering your mobile number and OTP.

To apply, you will have to take the documents of yourself and the child to the Aadhaar center. Here you have to fill the registration form. In this form, you will have to give the name of the child, Aadhaar number of the parents, and other information. Now you will have to issue the birth certificate of the child and the Aadhaar number of one of the parents by going to the center. After 60 days an SMS will come on the registered mobile number. Baal Aadhaar will be sent to you within 90 days of the enrollment process.
