Australia's tour of West Indies is finally over. The final and deciding One-Day-International match of the AUS vs WI three-match ODI series was played between the two teams on Monday. Australia won the decider by six wickets to seal the series 2-1.
Earlier, West Indies had won the five-match T20 International series 4-1. In the last match of the series, West Indies captain Kieron Pollard was seen bowling off-spin. Pollard is an all-rounder and usually bowls medium pace, but during one of the overs, he decided to bowl off-spin.
He had the chance to dismiss in-form Wade at the non-striker's end but he ended up just warning the Australian batsman of Mankading, the video of which has become viral on social media. Although Pollard didn’t take the bails off, his actions were questioned by many as it seemed like he waited for Wade to get out of the crease by delaying release of the ball.
Matthew Wade returned unbeaten after scoring 51 runs and played a key role in helping Australia win. Batting first, West Indies were bundled out for 152 runs. Opener Evin Lewis remained not out and was also the best scorer for West Indies by scoring 55 off 66 balls to help his team score 152/10 in 45.1 overs.
Apart from Lewis, none of the Caribbean batsmen could even reach the 20-run mark. For Australia, Mitchell Starc took three wickets for 43 runs in 9.1 overs. Josh Hazlewood, Ashton Agar and Adam Zampa took two wickets each, while one wicket was picked by Ashton Turner.
In reply, Australia won the match by scoring 153 runs for the loss of four wickets in 30.3 overs. Ashton Agar returned not out after scoring 19 runs.
