New Delhi: Almost every day, we all have leftover food in our fridge, particularly dals and cooked vegetables, and when someone doesn't eat them, we have to toss them out. But throwing away food is never a good idea, especially when you can get creative and make some really tasty recipes with the leftovers.

Here are some easy lip-smacking dishes that can be prepared from the leftover dal in your refrigerator.

1. Dal Kebabs:

Ingredients:

  • Bread Crumbs

  • 2 tbsp of onions, chopped

  • 1 tbsp of chopped green chillies

  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder

  • 1/2 tsp each of cumin powder and garam masala powder

  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1 tbsp of grated ginger

Preparation:

1. For this recipe, a dal with a somewhat thicker consistency, such as chana dal, is needed. Cook it on a pan so that the moisture evaporates if it is not too thick and dry. You can also include fresh bread crumbs to thicken it (as needed). The kebabs will get crisper by adding bread crumbs.

2. Add finely chopped green chillies, chopped onions, and chopped coriander leaves to the thick dough-like dal in a bowl. Next, add black pepper powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, and grated ginger.

3. Now mix the ingredients together and shape kebabs out of them.

4. They should be cooked on a medium flame in a preheated pan.

5. Serve with coriander chutney.

2. Dal Toast:

Ingredients:

  • Besan

  • Chilli powder as per taste

  • Salt to taste

  • Hing

  • Ghee for frying

  • Slices of Bread

Preparation:

1. The remaining dal should be mixed with besan.

2. Stir thoroughly to create a thick paste.

3. Salt and red pepper flakes are then added to season the food.

4. Add some hing as well.

5. Apply this mixture to a slice of bread.

6. A little oil or ghee and heat on a grill.

7. Flip over and repeat until the bread is nice and toasted.

8. Serve it with mango chutney.

3. Dal Paratha:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Atta

  • 1 bowl left over dal

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • Salt to taste

  • Ghee

Preparation:

1. Add salt and ghee to the atta in a mixing dish.

2. Mix the three dry for 2-3 minutes.

3. While continuing to knead the flour mixture, add the dal gradually.

4. If necessary, adjust the consistency and add water.

5. Make a soft dough and then add lemon juice.

6. Now use a rolling pin and loose flour to make thin parathas.

7. First, cook the parathas without oil in a heated pan.

8. Add ghee and flip your paratha when both sides are just beginning to get golden.

9. Serve dahi or achar along with the parathas.
