After being reinstated as the Congress MP from Wayanad constituency in Kerala, Rahul Gandhi is set to visit his parliamentary constituency for the first time on August 12. Ahead of his visit, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee workers are geared to arrange a warm reception. Kerala Pradesh Congress said that the preparations have already started and they have a district Congress Committee meeting on Thursday.


VT Siddique, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee Working president said, "Rahul Gandhi will be coming to Wayanad on 12th August. We are going to arrange a warm reception for him and the preparations have already started. There is a district Congress Committee meeting tomorrow. Rahul Gandhi will be present here on 12th and 13th August."

Rahul Gandhi's membership was restored on Monday and he was allowed to freely attend the Parliamentary sessions. Rahul was suspended for four months after his conviction in 'Modi surname' remark case. 


On Friday, however, the Supreme Court suspended Rahul Gandhi's conviction in a defamation case and later his membership was restored in the Parliament. 


Rahul Gandhi may return to his residence at 12, Tughlaq Lane. The sources, as per ANI, said on Tuesday that Rahul Gandhi got an official confirmation from the Estate office for the allotment of a bungalow to him as an MP in Delhi. However, Rahul is yet to decide on moving to 12, Tughlak Lane residence.


Earlier, Gandhi moved into former Congress president Sonia Gandhi's 10 Janpath Road residence.
