Chennai: A fisherman from Tamil Nadu who was stranded in the sea after a boat accident was saved by Kerala coastal police. The video of the incident also went viral on social media and gained appreciation from the people.
According to a report on The Indian Express, a Tamil Nadu fisherman Danapalan was stranded and floating in the water after he met with an accident mid-sea. The Kerala coastal police who saw the mishap immediately rushed for help. They threw a lifebuoy near him.
A police officer also jumped into the sea to help him. Following this, the man managed to get hold of the ring. Later, the officers helped him by giving him a hand. They also pulled him up to the boat.
The video also showed the policemen consoling the man. The policemen also gave him water.
Taking the incident to social media, Kerala coastal police said, Dhanapalan, a native of Tamilnadu, got stranded in the sea while fishing. He was rescued by a team of Ponnani coastal police.
The accident took place five nautical miles away from Ponnani in Malappuram.
The video also received positive comments from the people. A user said, 'congrats Kerala police for this courageous act' while another user said 'well done'.

In November, five Tamil Nadu fishermen who were stranded in the Bay of Bengal after their boat developed a technical snag were rescued by the Navy. The rescued fishermen were handed over to the district authorities.
