Background
In his mega Kerala outreach ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Modi will flag off the first Vande Bharat train in Kerala and along with India's first water metro in Kochi. Putting the BJP in the poll mode in Kerala ahead of the 2024 general elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday made a major outreach in the state by conducting a road show, addressing a youth conclave and meeting heads of churches. He also targeted the two main parties in the state--ruling CPI (M) and the opposition Congress over different issues.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a rousing welcome after he arrived on Monday, with thousands of people, including BJP workers and supporters, lining up on both sides of the nearly two-kilometre long route of his road show from the INS Garuda naval air station to the venue of a youth programme. Modi landed at the naval air station after 5 PM and commenced his road show from there around 5.40 PM.
A statement by Prime Minister's Office (PMO) informed that Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone and dedicate various projects to the nation worth more than Rs. 3200 crores on his trip to Kerala.
The official release also mentioned that Modi will lay the foundation of multiple rail projects including the redevelopment of Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, and Varkala Sivagiri railway stations.
The Prime Minister embarked on a visit to several places in the country across Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and Daman and Diu. In Kerala, PM Modi said that India's 'Yuva Shakti' is the driving force behind our country's development journey, after holding a mega roadshow in Kochi dressed in traditional Kerala attire. PM Modi began his road show on foot, waving to the crowds gathered on both sides of the road along the route, which was heavily guarded. Speaking at the 'Yuvam Conclave', the PM emphasised the strength and capabilities of the youth of the country.
