The lottery department announced the winners of Kerala's historic Onam bumper in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday. The first prize-winning ticket was sold through Bava agency in Walayar in Palakkad. The winner will receive Rs 25 crore. Finance Minister KN Balagopal attended the lottery event at Gorky Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram at 2 PM. The lottery ticket carrying number TE 230662 won the first prize of Rs 25 cr.
Ticket numbers that won the second prize or prize of Rs 1 crore each include TH 305041, TL 894358, TA 781521, TD 166207, TB 398415, TB 127095, TC 320948, TB 515087, TJ 410906, TC 946082, TE 421674, TC 287627, TC 708749, TE 220042, TJ 223848, TC 151097, TG 381795, TH 314711, TG 496751 and TB 617215, reported Mathrubhumi.
The third prize winners of lotteries include TA 323519 TB 819441 TC 658646 TD 774483 TE 249362 TG 212431 TH 725449 TJ 163833 TK 581122 TL 449456 TA 444260 TB 616942 TC 331259 TD 704831 TE 499788, TG 837233, TJ 355104, TK 233939 and TL 246507.
As a second prize winner, around 20 persons will receive Rs 1 crore each.
Kerala State Lotteries, which was established in 1967, are run by the Kerala government. Prior to this, the Vishu Bumper winners were declared by the Kerala lottery department to celebrate the start of the new year according to the Malayalam calendar.
Tickets for the Thiruvonam Bumper have been sold in unprecedented quantities. One lakh tickets were sold by 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the last day to purchase them. Overall 66 lakh tickets have been sold.
Due to changes in the reward structure, more tickets have been sold this year, according to lottery department officials.
Earlier, there was just one reward worth 5 crore. As the third prize, 20 people received 50 lakh each and 10 people received 5 lakh each as the fourth prize last year.
The winner of the first prize in the Vishu Bumper BR-91 lottery ticket number VE 475588 received a total of Rs 12 crore. During a lottery draw event at Gorky Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram, state finance minister KN Balagopal presented the bumper lottery for 2023.
