UDF Criticises Kerala Govt Over Price Rise In Assembly
In another heated session, the opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) sharply criticised the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) government for the steep rise in prices of vegetables, fish, and poultry in Kerala.
The UDF accused the government of being indifferent to the suffering of the common people due to the escalating costs of essential commodities.
The opposition's allegations were brought forward during a motion seeking the adjournment of House proceedings to discuss the rising prices of food items in the state. UDF MLA Roji M John highlighted that the government's previous statements in the House indicated a lack of awareness about the price rise, suggesting a disconnect from the realities faced by the public.
State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, G R Anil, rejected the UDF's accusations, asserting that the government has implemented effective market interventions to mitigate the price rise.
