Kerala: Man In Cop Net For Thrashing 'Army Jawan' In Kollam, Writing 'PFI' On His Back

The complainant Shine Kumar alleged that miscreants took him to a secluded place, tied his hands, kicked his back and painted 'PFI' on his back.

Kerala police took a man into custody in Kadakkal in connection with the complaint of army personnel alleging that he was attacked by six persons on Monday. The complainant had alleged that miscreants took him to a secluded place, tied his hands, kicked his back and painted 'PFI' on his back. The victim was identified as Shine Kumar and PFI stands for Popular Front of India, an Islamist group that was banned by the government of India last year. 

Talking to ANI, Balan, the father of the army personnel who was allegedly attacked, said, "He (Army personnel) had gone out to meet a friend and on the way he saw two people standing and since it was night, he asked them if they needed some help, they said yes and took him to a place and kicked him from behind and tied his hands, they then tore his clothes and wrote PFI on his back."

"They left the place after that and my son somehow managed to untie his hands, took his mobile and called for help," he said.

Balan said that his son went to the hospital and police station. Based on the complaint of the army man, Kadakkal police in Kollam district registered a case under sections 143, 147, 323,341, 153 and 149 IPC. The attack reportedly took place on the same day as the Enforcement Directorate raided multiple locations in Kerala related to the PFI PMLA case. 

Further, Balan said, "I got to know that the Police have arrested one person now, but I don't know much about it."
