After Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's criticism of Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan's absence from the state, Khan highlighted the lack of invitations to Onam celebrations and accused the CM and his government of lacking shame for not apologizing regarding the reappointment pressure on Gopinath Ravindran as the Vice Chancellor of Kannur University.

He mentioned that initially, he had expressed to the government his belief that pressuring him to reappoint Ravindran was inappropriate, "but they presented the opinion of the Advocate General, and I approved it."

"But the Supreme Court made him vacate the post. Instead of saying sorry for what they pressured me to do, people who do not have any sense of shame are free to say anything they like," Khan told reporters in New Delhi, as per PTI.

The Governor addressed reporters who highlighted Kerala CM's accusation at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi where he alleged that the Governor was misusing his position to disrupt university operations. Regarding Vijayan's remark about his limited presence in the state, Khan responded by asserting that all his engagements are sanctioned by Rashtrapati Bhavan.

"So, in fact, people who do not invite the Governor even for the Onam celebrations making this complaint speaks poorly of them. It speaks very poorly of them," he said, as per the report.

Earlier, Vijayan remarked that even if Khan visits Kerala, he lacks the time to deliver the entire Governor's address in the assembly.

"But, he has time to sit on the road and create a scene," Vijayan said mocking the Governor over the recent sit-in protest held by Khan on the road.

Today, the LDF, under Vijayan's leadership, staged a demonstration at Jantar Mantar to protest the alleged financial neglect of the southern state by the Centre.
