The BJP launched an attack on Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and state minister Zameer Ahmed Khan for traveling in a luxury jet to Delhi to seek drought aid. The issue started after minister Zameer Ahmed Khan shared a video of him sharing a space with the CM in the plane. Hinting at him, BJP leader Amit Malviya said the minister was flaunting his pictures with CM Siddaramaiah in a private jet.

BJP National IT Dept Incharge Amit Malviya said, "On the one hand, Congress is pretending to crowdfund and didn’t even serve samosas in I.N.D.I Alliance meeting, on the other, Zameer Ahmed Khan, cabinet minister for Housing, Waqf and Minority Affairs in Karnataka Govt, is flaunting his pictures with CM Siddaramaiah in a private jet. They apparently had ‘happy moments’ traveling together to Delhi, to seek funds for drought relief."

"Irony died a million times. Karnataka is reeling under mis-governance but Congress’s loot must continue," he said.

Karnataka BJP said, "Severe drought has come in the state and people are suffering due to financial hardship. @INCKarnataka came to power six months later, not even a single pothole sealing work has been done."

"However, Majawadi @siddaramaiah and his ayapta @BZZameerAhmedK are nothing short of pompous. This avatar is the proof that Majawadi Chief Minister is emasculating the poor people of the country while having fun inside a private jet on people's tax money," it said.

Opposition voices emerged following Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan's sharing of a video depicting him sharing a space with the Chief Minister on the plane.

On the row over CM Siddaramaiah flying in private aircraft, Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy said, "To save time, they (CM and cabinet ministers) are using chartered aircraft to visit Delhi and return from there. So what is the issue with that? As far as drought relief is concerned, the central government is yet to release the funds but the BJP leaders in the state do not dare to ask the PM for the same."

Gujarat Congress president Shaktisinh Gohil said, “When PM Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat, he travelled in the costliest aircraft brought in especially for him from UAE.”
