With Assembly elections in Karnataka approaching, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday launched the 'Vijaya Sankalp Yatra' from Karnataka's Belagavi. Earlier on Wednesday, BJP National President JP Nadda flagged off the yatra from Chamarajanagar. The yatra will be launched from two other districts soon.

"Defence Minister and BJP leader Rajnath Singh inaugurates party's 'Vijay Sankalp Yatra' in Belagavi, Karnataka. CM Basavaraj Bommai, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and state BJP president Nalinkumar Kateel also present," news agency ANI said, in a tweet.

While addressing a gathering, the defence minister said, "Recently, when Air India placed an order for 470 aircraft with Boeing & Airbus, it was the biggest order in the aviation industry. All aerospace & software companies working in Karnataka will also benefit from this order.

"Every day youth leaders of Congress are launched. They've stooped so low that they say, Modiji, your grave will be dug; they are digging their own graves. The more mud Congress throws, the more lotus will bloom."

Union Minister Rajnath Singh heaped praises over former Karnataka CM BS Yeddiyurappa. While stating that BS Yediyurappa resigned from the CM post due to health reasons and Basavaraj Bommai is running government in Karnataka for the last 1.5 years, he said Yediyurappa has served the party and the state as 'son of the soil' for several decades.

"Like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yediyurappa wants the BJP government should be formed again in Karnataka for five years so that Karnataka can be made the number one state of South India in the next five years," Singh added.
