A man who was suspected of being engaged in confrontations and stabbing someone was shot in the leg after he reportedly tried to fight the officers who went to capture him, according to the police, news agency PTI reported.
After the incident today, Mohammed Zabi alias Charbi (30), a resident of Marnami Bailu in this district headquarters town, is recuperating in a hospital.
Nadeem, Tanveer, Charbi, and Abdul Rehman were arrested and charged with attempted murder under Section 307 of the IPC.
According to police, Prem Singh (age 20) was stabbed after skirmishes erupted between two clans in the town on Monday over the display of banners depicting Hindutva philosopher Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and 18th century Mysuru monarch Tipu Sultan.

Prohibitory orders were issued in the town shortly after the conflict under section 144 of the IPC.
Today is also a vacation for schools and institutions in the cities of Bhadravati and Shivamogga, according to the district government.

When a police squad arrived to arrest Zabi on Tuesday morning, he reportedly attempted to assault the officers. Sub-inspector Manjunath S Kuki of the Vinoba Nagar police station shot in his right leg in self-defense, they said.
He was sent to a government hospital and is now healing.
Meanwhile, Alok Kumar, the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), informed reporters that the stab victim is from Rajasthan and worked at the garment store where the altercation occurred.
Singh was not participating in the fights, but he was stabbed by four guys who have since been apprehended.
“We have arrested four people. We will interrogate them to find out any background and ideological support to them, or their ideological leanings,” the ADGP was quoted by PTI in its report.
He also stated that the sector-based 'bandobast' and patrols will continue for the next three days, and that police will select the next course of action after analysing the situation.
