After the low-intensity blast hit Bengaluru's Rameshwaram Cafe on March 1, it finally reopened to the public after eight days on Saturday. On the reopening of the cafe, Raghavendra Rao, Co-founder of Rameshwaram Cafe stated that they are now taking all the necessary security measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
He stated: "We are taking all the security measures to avoid such incidents in the future...we are strengthening our security team, we are also trying to have a panel of ex-servicemen to train our security guards."
Visuals of customers being frisked before entering the cafe also surfaced online.
Rameshwaram Blast Case Current Status
On March 4, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs handed over the case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Two days after it had taken over the investigation, the NIA announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for any information on the suspect who was seen in the CCTV footage on the fateful day that injured 10 people. The explosion that occurred at the cafe's Brookefield branch is believed to have been caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). NIA also released a screengrab of the CCTV footage and stated that the identity of the informer will be kept a secret.
As per reports, the investigation agency had received crucial information about the suspect that he had boarded a bus from Mantryalayam in Andhra Pradesh and was headed towards Gokarna city in Karnataka's coastal region.
Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara also stated that a vital clue was discovered in connection with the case and the investigation is being jointly carried out by NIA and the state's special wing CCB.
