No one should feel left out about not receiving an invitation to Lord Rama temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, said Udupi Pejawar Mutt chief and member of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Swami Vishwaprasanna Teertha on Wednesday adding that the temple belongs to all. The mutt chief said many Ram Bhakts including saints, chiefs of mutts, people’s representatives and donors could not be invited for the consecration due to space constraints inside the temple.
About the Ram Mandir, Udupi Pejawar Mutt chief emphasized that it should not be perceived as BJP’s temple. He asserted that all devotees will have the opportunity to witness Lord Ram's darshan from the day following the consecration. Stressing that the temple is for all Indians and funded by devotees worldwide, he highlighted its collective ownership.
Addressing concerns about invitations, he urged devotees not to feel slighted and said that those invited should participate in the ceremony. To accommodate devotees, tents and sheds have been set up for overnight stays due to the challenging cold conditions.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the recent arrest of a 'kar sevak' in Hubballi, he alleged that it is part of a broader attempt to sideline Hindus. He called upon the state government to dispel misunderstandings and provide clarity on the matter.
The Pejawar seer endorsed Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna's plea to declare January 22, the day of ‘Prana Pratishta’ in Ayodhya, as a public holiday, respecting the sentiments and faith of Hindus.
The statement of member of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Swami Vishwaprasanna Teertha comes after former Karnataka Minister Holalkere Anjaneya said the idol installed inside the sanctum sanctorum in Ayodhya would be 'BJP's Ram'. Further, he equated CM Siddaramaiah with lord Ram creating a controversy in the state.
