Congress leader Rahul Gandhi trained guns on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party saying the ruling dispensation waived off loans of millionaires equivalent to 24 years of pay under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. Addressing a poll rally in Karnataka's Mandya, the Wayanad MP said that th BJP runs a government of 22 to 25 rich people.
"Farmers said to me that millionaires' loans are waived off. PM Narendra Modi has waived off 16 lakh crores of loans of the 25 wealthiest people of India, which means the money is worth 24 years of MGNREGA," Rahul alleged, adding, "Farmers are asking if the millionaire's loans can be waived off, why can't it be for farmers..."

He said that during his Bharat Jodo Yatra, farmers asked hi two-three question which include why they don't get appropriate price for their produce in the market, second if loans can be waved off for millionaires then why not for them and the third being about Pradhan Mantri Beema Yojana.
He said that the upcoming Lok Sabha polls is a fight between two ideologies.
“The election season is here, and it is a fight between two ideologies. On one side is the Congress party and INDIA alliance, which is fighting for the Indian Constitution and Democracy. On the other hand, we have the BJP and RSS which are trying to kill the Democracy and Constitution of the country," he said.
"They are putting their people in every institution of the country," the former Congress president said.
Earlier in the day, when asked whether he would contest the Lok Sabha polls from Uttar Pradesh's Amethi, Rahul said he will follow "whatever order" he gets from his party.
He made the remark during a joint press conference with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
