New Delhi: A day after the Karnataka High Court dismissed multiple pleas challenging the hijab ban in educational institutions, Udupi Deputy Commissioner M Kurma Rao said that they have imposed prohibitory orders across the district as schools and colleges reopened on Wednesday.
"Asked people to respect the verdict & cooperate with the district admin to maintain peace," the deputy commissioner said, as quoted by news agency ANI.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai requested everyone to maintain peace and order and respect the HC verdict. "I request everyone to follow the High Court order and maintain peace and order to the well being of children as education is very important for their bright future," he said after the high court pronounced its verdict.
