Amid the massive crackdown on Popular Front of India (PFI) leaders and workers, Karnataka police take 75 PFI, SDPI workers and district leaders into preventive custody for interrogation on Tuesday. Police raids are underway across the state, including Bagalkote, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Kolar, Ramanagara, Vijayapura, Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad and Hassan districts.


"More than 75 PFI & SDPI workers & leaders taken into preventive custody, including the SDPI Yadgiri district president; police raids underway across the state. Cases booked under sections 108, 151 CrPC," ADGP Law & Order, Bengaluru, Alok Kumar said as quoted by news agency ANI.

"Police are oppressing by filing false cases," said Campus Front of India (CFI) State Secretary Saiyada Sarfaraz and he asserted that they will not be deterred by the police's action.


While Sarfaraz was addressing the media at the district administration building in Koppal, he said that they will not be swayed by all this. The Koppal police arrested Sarfaraz and Rasool in Karnataka's Gangavati and they were called to appear before the Sub Divisional Officer of Koppal.


Meanwhile, in a massive crackdown, more than 30 people have been detained from different places in Delhi. Raids are underway by state police & its ATS units against PFI, in various states including Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Assam, Delhi, Maharashtra, Telangana, & Uttar Pradesh, said news agency ANI in a report.
