Chennai: After miscreants smeared the poster of Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai with black ink at Mumbai's Mahim Bus stop, Bommai spoke to Maharashra government and told them to maintain law and order in the state.
Speaking to reporters, CM Basavaraj Bommai said, "We've spoken with the Maharashtra government and have told them to maintain law and order as far as Karanataka buses and Kannada-speaking people are concerned."
"Our Home, DGP & IGP officials will speak with Maharashtra ministers," he said.
The comment of the CM comes after his poster was smeared with black ink at Mumbai's Mahim Bus stop. On Friday, protesters also wrote slogans on buses plying to Karnataka from Maharashtra in Pune.

On Friday, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai on Friday said Maharashtra must take steps to reduce the gap between the two states, adding his counterpart in the neighbouring state -- Eknath Shinde -- must initiate urgent steps to protect peace and tranquility.
Talking to reporters in Vidhana Soudha here, he said India is a union of states and every state has its rights. He said, "The states are formed under the State Reorganization Act. Protecting law and order is the duty of every state as well as maintaining peace and tranquility."
"Ours is law abiding state and work within our rights. The Maharashtra state filed the case in 2004 and we are fighting the case," Bommai said.
The Karnataka-Maharashtra border row resurfaced as the matter is expected to be taken up by the Supreme Court.
