The Karnataka Police on Wednesday issued a notice to a woman Sub-Inspector after actor Pavithra Gowda, partner of jailed Kannada superstar Darshan Thoogudeepa, was seen wearing makeup while in police custody. Gowda is the prime accused in the Renukaswamy murder case.

On June 16, Pavithra Gowda was taken to her Bengaluru residence to record details of the crime scene. During this visit, she was reportedly seen with lipstick and makeup, smiling while returning with police officials. This unusual circumstance was noted in TV footage, prompting an investigation.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) S Girish issued the notice to Sub-Inspector Vijayanakar, who had accompanied Gowda for the mahazar (crime scene inspection). Police officials suggested that Gowda might have applied the makeup during a washroom break, which she had requested during the visit, according to a report on Times of India.

The incident has raised questions about the conduct and supervision of detainees in police custody, leading to increased scrutiny of the involved officers.

Kannada Actor Darshan's Wife Urges Fans to Stay Calm

Vijayalakshmi, the wife of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa who is currently under arrest in connection with the murder case, has appealed to his fans for calm. In a heartfelt message shared on her Instagram account on Wednesday, Vijayalakshmi called for fans to focus on positive actions and support.

"Call for all our celebrities. You all know how much Darshan loves you. It is sad that we are in this situation today and that we have to stay at a distance from him. I have spoken to him in detail about the situation outside and it has touched his heart," Vijayalakshmi wrote.

She emphasized that Darshan has urged his fans, whom she referred to as "celebrities," to remain composed and engage in good deeds. "He is sure that he will be a part of your prayers," she added, as per a report on PTI.

The case revolves around the murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan, who allegedly sent obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda, leading to a violent confrontation. Police sources indicate that these messages enraged Darshan, potentially resulting in the latter's murder.
