Some big personalities are trying to poach (our MLAs), said Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar on Saturday. Further, he alleged that a big conspiracy was being hatched against Congress-led government in the state but it would not succeed. The statement of the Congress leader comes just days after he claimed that 40 BJP and JD(S) leaders were willing to join the Congress.

On Friday, Mandya Congress MLA Ravikumar Ganiga made an explosive statement that Congress MLAs were being lured with a ministerial berth and Rs 50 crore cash to join a different party. He alleged that those who attempted to collapse Congress-JD(S) government in 2019 were again trying to destabilise the current government with the move. He said that they met four Congress MLAs and he has a video proof for it. He alleged that one of them who approached the Congress MLA was a former PA to BJP leader BS Yediyurappa, as reported by The New Indian Express.
In September, BJP leader KS Eshwarappa alleged that there would be 'Operation Lotus 2.0' in Karnataka and there would be no Congress left in the state before or after Lok Sabha elections 2024. He said that the Congress claimed that BJP MLAs would join the ruling party but there would be no Congress left in the state. He said that he would guarantee 100 percent that there would be another 'Operation Lotus' in Karnataka.
