Amid Congress's Prajadwani Yatra in Karnataka, the party chief in the State DK Shivakumar said that the ruling BJP has made Karnataka corruption capital. He alleged that the BJP is trying to win Tamil Nadu also through corruption.
He said that Rahul Gandhi's simplicity has created fear among the BJP. "I think JP Nadda has fear of Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi’s simplicity has created fear among the BJP. That is why they are taking Rahul Gandhi’s name every day. They are also attacking him indirectly," Shivakumar told news agency ANI.
"Their party has done a blunder by making Karnataka the corruption capital. They are trying to win Tamil Nadu through corruption. The Congress Party will come into power in Karnataka," he said.

Earlier on Tuesday, BJP legislative council member Baburao Chinchansur quit the ruling party in the state and has decided to join the Congress. He is likely to join Congress on Saturday (March 25). Stating that Chinchansur is the tallest leader of the fisherfolk community, Shivakumar said, "he will be a big strength for the entire Karnataka. He represents the Constituency where Mallikarjun Kharge was there 8-9 times continuously. Mallikarjun Kharge has become the Congress President."
Chinchansur is the second BJP leader to have resigned this month. Earlier, Puttanna quit BJP and joined Congress alleging corruption in the ruling BJP government in Karnataka. With two leaders resigning their posts in BJP, this could be setback for the Basavaraj Bommai government in the state.
The Assembly election in Karnataka is due in May.
