Three youngesters were reportedly assaulted while traveling in a car and chanting 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans during the celebration of Ram Navami in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Following the incident, Karnataka police have arrested two individuals and detained two minors in connection with the assault. The victims have been identified as Vinayak, Rahul and Pavan.

Lakshmi Prasad, North East Division DCP, said, "Yesterday, a case was registered in Vidyaranyapura PS wherein three victims were assaulted by four boys. The three victims were travelling in their car and because it was Ram Navami they were chanting 'Jai Shri Ram', at the same time the accused persons stopped them and said that they should not be saying Jai Shree Ram and that they should only say Allahu Akbar and in the middle of this, all the four accused persons have assaulted the three boys."

"Then they left the spot and as soon as the incident came to light, we registered a case. We took a complaint from one of the victims. The injured victims were taken to the hospital. As part of the investigation, four persons have been secured. Two are majors and two are minor boys. The investigation is ongoing right now," he said.
