The AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi slammed Karnataka government for not issuing orders to lift the hijab ban in Karnataka even after being in power for the past seven months. The AIMIM leader questioned why the Congress government in Karnataka was hesitant to issue such orders, a task that he claimed would only take 30 minutes.

Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi expressed strong criticism towards the Karnataka government, led by the Congress party, for the prolonged delay in lifting the hijab ban that has been in place for the past seven months.

He said, "Why has it taken them (the Congress government in Karnataka) seven months and why are they going back? After addressing a public meeting, the Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that they can wear whatever you want and then he tells within one hour that we are yet to take a decision."

"It is very unfortunate. The Muslims of Karnataka are feeling let down," he said.

The AIMIM chief wondered what is stopping the Congress Government in Karnataka from issuing such orders which will take just 30 minutes, according to PTI.

On Sunday, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao also attacked the Congress-led Karnataka government claiming that the Siddaramaiah government did not repeal the state's ban on hijab and was still considering it.

"People are seeing the behaviour of Congress that what they say before coming to power and how they change after getting power," KTR said.

Earlier, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah offered clarification, stating that the administration is currently considering the possibility of lifting the ban on wearing hijab in educational institutions within the state. He emphasized that a final decision on this matter would be reached after thorough discussions at the government level.
