The Karnataka High Court adjourned the hearing of JD(S) MLA HD Revanna's plea to quash charges registered against him to June 3. Revanna is confronted with allegations under various sections, including Section 364A of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to kidnapping.

According to ANI, Karnataka High Court has adjourned the hearing on the petition filed by Prajwal Revanna's father and JD(S) leader HD Revanna till June 3. The petition seeks quashing of the FIR lodged at KR Nagara police station against him and others for allegedly abducting the sexual assault victim.

In the court proceedings, senior advocate CV Nagesh, representing Revanna, contended that section 364A, addressing kidnapping for ransom, necessitates both abduction and a threat or demand.

He argued that mere abduction alone does not fulfill the requirements outlined in this section.

HD Revanna is facing multiple accusations which include allegations of kidnapping and alleged sexual misconduct concerning a former domestic employee. The individual reportedly experienced assault by HD Revanna's son, Prajwal Revanna, who serves as the Member of Parliament from Hassan. HD Revanna was granted bail in relation to these allegations on May 13, as reported by The News Minute.

Meanwhile, the SIT issued a notice to former Zilla Panchayat member Bhavani Revanna regarding her involvement in the kidnapping case under the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). Bhavani has been instructed by the SIT to stay at her residence in Holenarasipur town, located in Hassan District, for further questioning.

The kidnapping case in question has been registered at the KR Nagar Police Station in Mysuru District.
