Chennai: Four injured in chemical boiler blast on the outskirts of Bengaluru in Karnataka's Attibele town on Friday noon at around 1.30 PM. 4-5 km area around Lake Chemicals in Attibele, Anekal covered in smoke. Fire tenders at the spot.


In and around the explosion spot, the toxic smoke has spread and it was also reported that it got tough for people to breath and several residing in the vicinity of the Lake Chemicals factory have faced breathlessness. According to a report in TV9 Kannada, the explosion happened in a chemical boiler blast in a pharmaceutical company.

"Of the three labourers injured inside the factory, one has got severely wounded," said Bengaluru Rural SP Kona Vamshi Krishna as quoted by Times of India.


According to the Fire and Emergency services official, at least three fire tenders were rushed to the spot as soon as they were alerted. "As many as 97 employees were present inside the factory at the time of blast. The workers injured were rushed to private hospital while the others were shifted to government," said the Fire and Emergency services official, according to the Times of India report.  


Reportedly, four people standing opposite to the blast spot, had heavy breathlessness as thick smoke billowed out of the factory. They were rushed to the hospital and were given first aid.


Later, some of the locals staged a protest claiming that the air is polluted because of the factory and it should be razed down.
