Ashoka also criticised the travel undertaken by Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar to review the monsoon preparedness in Bengaluru.
On Wednesday, both the Congress leaders visited four flood-hit areas. According to the Chief Minister, the inspection was conducted with permission from the Election Commission since the model code of conduct was still in effect.
On the visit, Ashoka said, "Now is not the time to go around the city of Bangalore. A month before the onset of the rainy season, a meeting should have been held with BBMP and BESCOM officials to warn them to take precautionary measures in low-lying areas where there is a possibility of rain water infiltration, where there are many potholes, where the royal canals are encroached, where metro work is going on. Then from time to time the place should be visited and checked whether precautions have been taken."
