Amid the severe water crisis in Bengaluru, people collect water from water tankers in the city. In a video shared by ANI, a boy was seen carrying a bucket to fill with water. The development comes as Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar issued a warning to tanker lorry owners stating that their vehicles will be seized if they fail to register with the authorities by March 7.
According to ANI, People collect water from water tanks as the city faces a water crisis. Amidst the water crisis, the Karnataka Water Supply and Sewerage Board banned the usage of drinking water for car washing, gardening, construction, water fountains & road construction and maintenance. It also imposed a fine of Rs 5000, if the order is violated.

Earlier, a resident Suresh talking to ANI said, "For 6 months, this area has not received water from the corporation. They have given us Cauvery connections, which would have benefitted us. We have to book 2-3 days in advance for water. We have to pay Rs. 1600-2000 for one water tanker."
"We have to buy water, we have no other source of water... We do not have water even to drink. In the upcoming summers, we would have to face a lot of difficulties... We have pipes of Cauvery connections, but there is no water," he said.
Against this backdrop, the BJP also threatened to stage a protest if the crisis remained unsolved for a week.
Earlier, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, cabinet ministers and department secretaries met and discussed ways to tackle the water shortage in India's Silicon Valley.
