Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of the new Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, the whole state was seen filled with banners of both the leaders along with Congress president Mllikarjun Kharge, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. Several banners were put up in the streets showcasing Congress leaders as the grand old party swept the state assembly elections this year.
News agency ANI took to Twitter to share these visuals from the state where the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday.
The posters of former Congress presidents Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, current party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, party's national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other leaders were also seen.
Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the Chief Minister and his cabinet at the swearing-in ceremony which will be held at Bengaluru's Kanteerava Stadium at around 12:30 pm, reported ANI. Kharge, while talking to ANI, said that eight MLAs will also be sworn in on the occasion as ministers. Congress MLAs Dr G Parameshwara, KH Muniyappa, KJ George, MB Patil, Satish Jarkiholi, Priyank Kharge, Ramalinga Reddy and BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan will take oath as the ministers in the state cabinet today, reported ANI.
Meanwhile, people gathered outside the residences of Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah engrossed in the spirit of celebration as they were seen distributing sweets, playing loud music, and dancing to it. People were seen playing traditional music outside the Bengaluru residence of Siddaramaiah.
Security arrangements are also in place in the town seeing the mass event of oath-taking.
A supporter outside Shivakumar's residence showed his support by getting a tattoo of the leader's face inked on his chest.
