Five people were killed and 13 sustained serious injuries after a car rammed into a stationary truck in Karnataka's Yadagiri district on Tuesday, as reported by the news agency ANI. According to police, the accident happened near Balichakra Cross in the Yadgiri district on Tuesday morning. The injured were shifted to the hospital. Further details are awaited.


In another incident, one person was killed and four others injured when a car overturned on the Baraut-Muzaffarnagar road near Kakda village in the Shahpur area here, police said on Tuesday, as reported by the news agency PTI. The incident took place on Monday killing Gulfam (28) on the spot, they said.


SHO of Shahpur V K Sharma said the incident occurred when the car's occupants were taking selfies while going to Muzaffarnagar to attend a wedding. The injured were rushed to a hospital where their condition was stated to be stable, the police official said. "The two women who were injured after a board put up at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium fell on their car, have passed away," DCP South Vineet Jaiswal said, as quoted by ANI. Another occupant of the car is currently undergoing treatment at Lohia Hospital, the police said.
