Meanwhile, scores of activists belonging to women's groups and student organisations protested the lathi-charge on women students of Banaras Hindu University, at Jantar Mantar in national capital Delhi. The trigger was an incident in which a woman student of Arts faculty alleged harassment by three men on a motorcycle inside the campus while she was returning to her hostel.
