Patna (Bihar) [India], August 20 (ANI): Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi on Sunday lashed out at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family over his silence on being involved in multiple land scams and possession of crores worth of property and black money.

Addressing a press conference here, Sushil Modi revealed that the latest technique adopted by the 'Lalu parivar' is the transfer of property using the power of attorney as a medium.

"In the past, Lalu Yadav has accepted land from former Bihar Public Service Commission chairman Ramashray Yadav, in exchange of giving him this position. He is in possession of crores worth of money and illegal property, and is finding out new techniques for the same," alleged Sushil.

In a detailed disclosure of the list of illegal property Lalu had in possession, Sushil alleged that by means of transfer of the power of attorney, Lalu succeeded in avoiding disclosure of the real extent of property owned by him.

"Starting with the BPSC chairman, Lalu had his property registered through other means apart from his own name, such as in the form of gifts, companies and so on. Once the property was registered in another person's name, such as that of Ramashray Yadav, the power of attorney would be transferred on certain clauses, with the end ownership of property going to Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi or any member of his family or close aides," said Sushil, adding that he would expose the RJD supremo further with any available document.

Extending the criticism of Lalu Yadav to Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law, Robert Vadra, Sushil opined that while the latter knew only one technique of seizing land and possessing concealed black money, that is, through shell companies, Lalu could teach him more such methods, being his 'guru'.

Earlier, Modi had revealed that property owned by Lalu Yadav's wife Rabri Devi was bought by people involved in sand mafia.

"People like Arun Yadav, an MLA of RJD, have been buying property which belongs to Rabri Devi. Arun Yadav's sons, Rajesh Kumar Ranjan and Deepu Kumar, along with his wife Kiran Devi have spent Rs. 2.56 crore in black money to buy these flats," he said, further accusing Arun Yadav of forming a company to portray the money as white money.

He also mentioned about the names of criminals with whom Lalu and his MLAs are allegedly involved with.

Sushil Modi also questioned the authorities in Bihar and demanded a probe as to how the sand mafias managed to buy eight plots owned by Rabri Devi in a single day.(ANI)
