Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India] October 30 (ANI): Union Minister for Railway and Coal, Piyush Goel on Monday said Railways will invest 3850 crore rupees in Jharkhand in this financial year.
He was speaking after inaugurating three-day 'Global Mining and Mineral Summit', called Mining Show 2017, here along with Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das.
"The Railways has increased the investment in the state by four times. He said in 2017-18, the Railways will be investing 3850 crore rupees in Jharkhand," Goyal said.
He lauded the commitment of the Chief Minister in containing Maoists threats and said, "Railways will now able to increase the reach and speed of its construction in remote areas of the state."
Highlighting the importance of the state, Goyal said unless there is a new Jharkhand, we can't have a new India.
"I am sure the way Chief Minister Raghubar Das is working, by 2022 we will have a new Jharkhand. I see Jharkhand's 'can do, will do spirit'. And that is why Raghubar Das has an 'open door' policy so that anyone can directly interact with him or his ministers. I am sure this will ensure speedy development of Jharkhand," Goyal said.
He added that "Jharkhand is best state in the country to use district mineral fund for providing clean drinking water to citizens".
The Minister also said that Coal India has also made aggressive plans to increase its production in Jharkhand.
He further added that Jharkhand provides nine percent of the total mineral resources of the country.
