View In AppDelhi: A portion of Ghazipur landfill site fell on a couple of people and vehicles below this Friday afternoon.
A car was pushed into the Kondli canal flowing next to the garbage dump. A two-wheeler also got submerged due to the impact that came falling below.
Rescue work on to pull the car out.
Initial reports said two people were crushed to death under the dump that came falling down.
Rescue operation including fire engine team, ambulances and police personnel were at the spot.
The landfill site adjoining Ghazibad stands about 50 metres above ground level.
There are three landfill sites in the city - Bhalswa (in the northwest), Okhla (southeast) and Ghazipur (east).
During summers, the landfill sites catch fire.

East Delhi Municipal Corporation mayor said it was triggered by rains.
