Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 19 (ANI): The Northern Railways calling the Muzaffarnagar tragedy an "unfortunate incident," have said that there are over 30 injuries and few casualties where the actual figures are being verified.
In a press statement, the Northern Railways said that the Minister of Railways Suresh P Prabhu is "personally monitoring" the incident and has issued necessary directions for early relief and rescue operations.
They further stated different Railway ministers and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team have proceeded towards the derailment site.
The local civil authorities, District Magistrate have already reached at the site and started "monitoring" of the relief and rescue work.
"Medical Van from Delhi, Saharanpur and Accident Relief Train from Ambala has rushed for derailment site," said the Northern Railways.
Arrangements of buses are being done for the clearance of the stranded passengers and helpline numbers have been provided. (ANI)
