Pune (Maharashtra) [India], July 17 (ANI): The 'milk blockade' will continue until demands of the dairy farmers are not met, pledged Hatkanangle constituency MP, Raju Shetti.
The milk blockade called by the Swami Shetkari Sanghatana has asked the ruling BJP in Maharashtra to give milk farmers a subsidy of Rs 5 per litre.
Yesterday, scores of farmers of the organisation also spilled milk on the roads near Pune's Hadapsar to mark the protest.
Agitated Shetti told ANI that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has betrayed these farmers by making false promises at the time of general elections.
When asked if it's a political move, the leader clarified that he is making efforts in order to ease the life of farmers of the region.
He also stated that he will not join any political outfit or take any decision until the demands of struggling farmers are fulfilled by the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis-led state government.(ANI)
